Brett Hetland - Head Coach

Brett has led the Boji Mammoths since their inception in 2015 and founded the Lakes Area Hockey Association in 2000.

Brett grew up playing hockey in Devils Lake, ND. Following high school Brett played junior college hockey for the University of Minnesota Crookston Trojans before earning his Bachelors of Science from North Dakota State University in Fargo.

Brett lives in Spirit Lake and is the General Manager at Brooks Golf in Okoboji. 

Dan Hoerichs - Assistant Coach

Dan grew up playing hockey in Spirit Lake from Mites through High School. He was part of the inaugural Boji Mammoths team and was team captain his senior year. Post High School, Dan played junior hockey for the Northern Cyclones. After juniors, he earned his bachelor's in supply chain management while playing ACHA hockey for Iowa State University.

Dan lives in Spirit Lake and is a Manufacturing Engineer at AGCO.

Josh Struck - Assistant Coach

Josh grew up 10 minutes south of Cincinnati on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River playing hockey for the Northern Kentucky Norse where he advanced to play in 3 USA Hockey National Championships. 

Josh has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus in neuropharmacology from the University of Kentucky. He is an avid snow skier, a scratch golfer and enjoys pickle ball and tennis.   Josh is employed at Fillenwarth Beach Resort and lives in Spirit Lake. 

Pierce Hetland - Assistant Coach

Pierce followed his brother onto the ice in the outdoor days playing his youth and high school career in a Boji uniform.  Although he strapped goalie pads on in his younger days, he hung those up and with the help of his teammates, became the most prolific Mammoth goal scorer to date amassing over 100 points his senior season. 

Pierce loves the game and enjoys sharing his passion. He enjoys roller hockey, golf and pickle ball. Pierce is employed by Vugteveen and lives in Spirit Lake.
